Daytime Burglary / Foot Pursuit Arrest in St. Albans

At approximately 8:13 pm, Kanawha County Deputies were dispatched to a daytime burglary in progress located at 606 Everest Circle in St. Albans.    A male suspect had entered the residence and was assaulting the homeowner.   The suspect then fled from the home and left in a vehicle.   A neighbor who witnessed the incident provided a description of the vehicle as it left the scene.

Sgt. Flowers located the vehicle on Coal River Road, which is a short distance from where the daytime burglary/assault occurred.  Sgt. Flowers approached the vehicle and a male immediately exited the passenger’s side of the vehicle.   As Sgt. Flowers continued approaching the vehicle, he ordered the female driver to exit the vehicle as well.   The female gunned the engine and refused to comply with Sgt. Flowers commands to exit the vehicle.   The female then fled in the vehicle traveling towards West Main Street.   The vehicle the female fled in was reported to have been stolen from the Poca area of Putnam County.  Officers from the St. Albans Police Department and Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Coal River Road / West Main Street area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

The male suspect attempted to flee on foot as the female sped away in the vehicle.  Sgt. Flowers began to pursue the male on foot and was able to apprehend him.   The male was identified as Anthony G. Ferrebee, 34 yoa, from the Davis Creek area of Kanawha County.   Mr. Ferrebee was transported by Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority personnel to Thomas Hospital, after Mr. Ferrebee complained to Deputies that he had ingested a quantity of heroin, and prescription medications.

The incident is being investigated by Sgt. F. Flowers, Deputy M. Dolin, and Deputy J. Cochran.  Anyone with information on this crime may call 304-357-0169 or submit a tip at www.kanawhasheriff.us.  As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Ferrebee is merely an accusation.  He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
