On April 19, 2016 detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, after consulting with the Office of the Prosecutor of Kanawha County, obtained warrants for malicious wounding and wanton endangerment for John Leroy Hudson (56 of Lacy Hollow, Charleston, WV) and Tommy Ray Mullins (37 of Rand, WV) for possession of a stolen vehicle. The charges stem from the shooting and crash incident yesterday near Big Chimney.
Mr. Mullins was arrested at his residence in Rand on the evening of April 19. He left the hospital earlier that day prior to being discharged. He was being treated at Charleston Area Medical Center’s General Division for several gunshot wounds. After he was arrested, Deputies returned him to the hospital for treatment. Several hours later he was discharged, then arraigned at Magistrate Court. Lastly, he was taken to South Central Regional Jail.
Mr. Hudson turned himself in to detectives this morning. He will be arraigned soon.
Attached are their mug shots from the arrests yesterday and today. As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Hudson and Mr. Mullins are merely accusations. Each is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
