March 13, 2017: Afternoon Update to Morning Shooting

In the early morning hours of March 13, 2017 a shooting was reported in the 1900 block of Morecott Drive in Sissonville, WV.  Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded and when the scene was safe medics with the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority approached and transported the adult female victim (Ashley Loudermilt) to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation began with detectives collecting physical evidence and interviewing witnesses.  The shooter, Ashlee Lavina Dresbach (25 of Lancaster, OH), admitted to shooting the victim, Ms. Loudermilt.  Overnight there was a dispute about Ms. Loudermilt possibly stealing or trying to steal Ms. Dresbach’s credit card.  When the conflict reemerged later in the morning Ms. Dresbach shot Ms. Loudermilt with a .410 shotgun once.

Ms. Dresbach was arrested, charged with malicious wounding, a felony.  As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Ms. Dresbach is merely an accusation.  She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.  Attached is a mugshot taken during her arrest today.
