Our bomb squad members are using their skills with electronics to help create beeping eggs for visually impaired students. A teacher for visually impaired students in Kanawha and surrounding counties reached out to them to assist with an egg hunt being planned for next month at Cedar Lakes Conference Center.
Together they arranged for supplies from the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) to be delivered. On Monday, March 20, 2017, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad will assemble eggs that emit an audible noise so they can be found by students with impaired vision.
The organizers would like to invite local journalists to watch the assembly and learn about their programs that morning at 9:00 a.m. They will be meeting in the Training Room at our headquarters. The training room is accessed through a door on Goshorn Street across from the Old County Courthouse.
