ANNOUNCEMENT – DEA National RX Takeback Event

Kanawha County, WV. – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce our participation in the DEA National RX Takeback Event this Saturday, April 26, 2025.
 
The mission of this event is to control easy access to medications that are prone to substance abuse and addiction. The event will allow citizens to drop off their unused or unwanted prescription medications for safe and anonymous disposal. KCSO will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.
 
Unwanted medications may be dropped on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at any of our five KCSO Detachments
  • Elkview – 1078 Main Street
  • Sissonville – 6817 ½ Sissonville Drive
  • Quincy – 2700 East Dupont Avenue
  • Cross Lanes – 903 Cross Lanes Drive
  • Saint Albans – 6809 Ohio Avenue
 
Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps, or illicit drugs. Liquid products like cough syrup should remain sealed in their original container, with a tightly sealed cap to prevent leakage.
