Deputies Investigating Domestic Violence-Related Stabbing on Amandaville Court
St. Albans, WV — Deputies from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred early this morning in the Amandaville Court area of Saint Albans. The incident is believed to be the result of a domestic violence situation.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call at the Amityville Court Apartments. Upon arrival, they learned that the incident had occurred roughly 30 minutes earlier, when a female suspect, identified as the victim’s ex-girlfriend, arrived at the residence.
Investigators report that the two individuals have been in a cyclical relationship over the past five years and have recently separated again. When the suspect was asked to leave the apartment, a verbal altercation ensued, which escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspect allegedly stabbed the male victim multiple times.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment as a precautionary measure.
Detectives were called to the scene and are continuing a thorough investigation. No charges have been filed at this time; however, deputies have identified a person of interest and are actively working to locate her.
This appears to be an isolated incident stemming from a domestic situation, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
