If someone tells you things like:
– “I’m from the IRS.”
– “Don’t tell anyone about this.”
– “Your computer has a virus.”
– “I’m in love with you.”
– “You’ve won the lottery.”
– “There’s a problem with your PayPal or Venmo.”
– “Stay on the phone while you deposit the money.”
– “Grandma/Grandpa, I’ve been arrested or hurt—don’t tell Mom and Dad.”
DO NOT send money, Bitcoin, or gift cards. Hang up, block them, and call 911.
Scammers thrive on fear and secrecy—don’t give them either.
