UPDATE: KCSO and other agencies remove Pigs in Diamond
Update: Sheriff’s Office and Partner Agencies Remove Livestock in Diamond
Diamond, WV — On November 4, 2025, Detective Cpl. J.A. Payne of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, along with representatives from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association (KCHA), and several community volunteers, safely removed thirty-one pigs from the property and surrounding area in Diamond.
The pigs were transported to northern West Virginia by the WV Department of Agriculture, where their safety and well-being will be ensured.
This follows the initial investigation conducted on October 31, 2025, after reports of loose and potentially neglected pigs damaging property in the area. Deputies previously confirmed the pigs had food, water, and shelter, and found no evidence of animal cruelty or neglect.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the cooperation of the involved agencies and community members who assisted with this effort.
