KANAWHA COUNTY MAN CALLS 911 AFTER ALLEGEDLY SHOOTING HIS WIFE

On December 20, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Kanawha County Metro 911 received a call from Jason Joe Phillips, age 46, who stated that he had shot his wife, Joanna Lynn Phillips, age 46, in the kitchen of their residence.

Deputies responded to the 3500 block of Allens Fork Road in Sissonville, West Virginia. Jason Joe Phillips was taken into custody without incident. Deputies then located Joanna Lynn Phillips inside the residence, where she was found deceased.

Jason Joe Phillips has been charged with First Degree Murder and is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.

This incident remains under investigation by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Anybody that is arrested is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
