BOMB THREAT AT YEAGER AIRPORT PART OF NATIONWIDE HOAX

At approximately 12:08 p.m. on December 31, 2025, West Virginia International Yeager Airport was notified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of a bomb threat that had been made.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Team, along with the Yeager Police Department, Charleston Police Department, Kanawha County Ambulance Authority, and Yeager Airport Fire Department, was immediately dispatched to West Virginia International Yeager Airport. Investigators later learned that several airports across the United States had received the same threat.

Bomb technicians with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Team conducted a thorough search of the affected areas, assisted by explosive detection K-9s. No credible threats or hazardous items were located.

Following the completion of the search, West Virginia International Yeager Airport was cleared and returned to normal operations.
