Arrest Made in Multiple Break-ins at the same Saint Albans Business
David Douglas Steadman, 53, of Charleston, West Virginia, has been charged with Grand Larceny and Entry of a Building Other Than a Dwelling.
On September 22, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm at the ParMar located at 459 MacCorkle Avenue, Saint Albans, WV. Upon arrival, deputies observed the front door had been destroyed to make entry and the business had been broken into. Less than $1,000 worth of cigarettes was stolen. Surveillance video captured a single suspect entering the store and committing the theft.
On December 26, 2025 (95 days later), at approximately 3:00 a.m., deputies were again dispatched to the same ParMar for an alarm activation. The front door had again been destroyed to make entry. During this incident, two suspects entered the business, with one acting and moving in a manner consistent with the September break-in. In this incident, more than $1,000 worth of cigarettes, vapes, and vape accessories was stolen.
During the investigation, Detective Boner identified David Douglas Steadman as the suspect. Steadman was located, interviewed, and confessed to committing the crime on more than one occasion. Evidence captured on surveillance footage from both incidents was consistent with Steadman.
Steadman was arrested on the above charges and is currently being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond, 10% cash.
