Arrest Made in Theft at United Rentals
An arrest has been made in connection with a theft that occurred at United Rentals in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
James Keith Quesenberry, 37, of Poca, West Virginia, has been charged with Entry of a Building Other Than a Dwelling and Grand Larceny.
The crime occurred on December 19, 2025, at United Rentals, located at 573 New Goff Mountain Road, Cross Lanes, WV. During the incident, a male suspect entered the property and stole a Ford F-550, a flatbed trailer, and two side-by-side off-road utility vehicles. To exit the property, the suspect utilized an excavator to force open a fence, allowing him to drive away with the stolen items.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a stolen white U-Haul truck was also used in the theft, along with another suspect. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at approximately $85,000.
On December 25, 2025, Quesenberry was stopped while driving the stolen white U-Haul truck. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been used during the December 19 theft. During an interview, Quesenberry admitted to being the individual seen on security footage stealing the Ford F-550, flatbed trailer, and two side-by-side vehicles.
Following his arrest, deputies were able to recover the stolen trailer. Later in the investigation, one of the two stolen side-by-side vehicles was also recovered.
Quesenberry is currently being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety/cash bond.
Detective Boner of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the Field Operations A Shift for their efforts in investigating this case and thank the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in recovering the stolen side-by-side vehicle and executing the arrest warrant.
Further investigation is still being conducted.
Anybody that is arrested is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
