I-77 and I-79 are currently being hammered by a heavy snow band, creating dangerous driving conditions.

• I-79 is bumper-to-bumper traffic

• I-77 Northbound traffic is being detoured off at Exit 116 and will re-enter at Goldtown in Jackson County

A snow band is a narrow but intense area of snowfall that can dump heavy snow in one location while areas just a few miles away see little to nothing. So even if it’s not snowing where you are, I-77 and I-79 are being hit hard right now.

Slow down, allow extra travel time, and consider delaying travel if possible. Conditions can change fast, and these bands do not play nice.
