Bomb Threat made to Tiger Morton Juvenile Center

On February 18, 2026, at approximately 9:11 p.m., a bomb threat was made by telephone to the James H “Tiger” Morton Juvenile Detention Center located at 60 Manfred Holland Way, Dunbar, WV.

Deputies responded, and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad conducted a thorough investigation of the facility. The threat was determined to be unfounded.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate in an effort to identify the individual responsible for making the call.
