NAMES RELEASED IN NITRO WALMART HOMICIDE
NITRO, WV – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, through its Kanawha Bureau of Investigations (KBI), is assisting the Nitro Police Department with a homicide investigation in the parking lot of the Nitro Marketplace Walmart.
The victim, Misty Rose Williams, 40, a Walmart employee, was found deceased inside her vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.
Williams had gone on a break to her vehicle, and when she did not return, coworkers checked on her and located her slumped over inside.
A review of Walmart’s surveillance footage led investigators to identify the suspect as Eric Dewayne Richmond, 54, who shares children with Williams. Richmond has been charged with First Degree Murder and is expected to be arraigned later today in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
ALL SUSPECTS ARE TO BE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW
