Highway Safety Awards
Today, members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office attended the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Awards Luncheon hosted by the West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program, where agencies and officers from across West Virginia were recognized for their efforts in promoting traffic safety and reducing impaired driving.
While we do not do this job for awards or recognition, it is an honor to see the hard work of our deputies acknowledged at the state level. Every traffic stop, DUI arrest, seatbelt campaign, and public awareness effort is done with one goal in mind: keeping the people of Kanawha County safe on our roadways.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was honored with the following awards:
– 2nd Place – Top DUI Enforcement
– 5th Place – Top eCitation Usage
– Sgt. Stephanie Adams – 3rd Place Top DUI Enforcement
– Deputy Caleb Sigmon – 7th Place Top DUI Enforcement
– Lt. Lester and Sgt. Burns – Best Traffic Safety Publicity Award for the “Click It or Ticket” video campaign
We appreciate the Governor’s Highway Safety Program for recognizing law enforcement agencies across the state and remain committed to continuing our traffic safety efforts throughout Kanawha County.
