Bank Robbery – Belle, WV

BANK ROBBERY – BELLE, WV
At approximately 3:50 p.m. on June 4, 2026, a white male entered Whitesville State Bank, located at 300 E. DuPont Avenue in Belle, West Virginia, and presented a note to a bank teller demanding money.

During the robbery, the suspect repeatedly reached toward his pockets on several occasions, allegedly insinuating that he was armed. The teller complied with the demand and provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the bank on foot toward the river area.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6’0” tall or taller with long hair, a red or brown beard, and glasses. He was wearing a blue sun hat, a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and white tennis shoes.  We are not ruling out the possibility that the suspect may have been wearing a disguise during the robbery.

Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the West Virginia State Police, immediately began canvassing the area for the suspect. The West Virginia State Police deployed a helicopter while Kanawha County deployed a K9 and initiated a track in an attempt to locate the suspect.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Boner with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office at 304-357-0556 or submit a tip through the Sheriff’s Office website at www.kanawhasheriff.us
