After 30 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kanawha County, Captain J.S. Elkins is retiring from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Throughout his career, Captain Elkins served in many roles, including Patrol, the Community Policing Division, and as a K-9 Handler, where he was partnered with two K-9s, Jake and Jenna. He also served as a Shift Commander and Judicial Commander.
Captain Elkins’ commitment, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and the community he served.
Sheriff Joseph Crawford and the members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office thank Captain Elkins for 30 years of faithful service and wish him and his family the very best in retirement.
