Motorcycle Pursuit Ends in Arrest Following Crash

SISSONVILLE, WV – On July 8, 2026, Deputy Hurd was traveling on Derricks Creek Road in Sissonville, WV when he encountered a motorcycle traveling toward him in the deputy’s lane of travel, nearly striking his patrol cruiser.

Deputy Hurd turned around and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the motorcycle fled. During the pursuit, the driver exceeded posted speed limits, repeatedly crossed into the opposite lane of travel, and disregarded multiple stop signs.

The pursuit continued along Derricks Creek Road, Page Road, Frogs Creek Road, Kellys Creek Road, and Rocky Fork Road. At times, the motorcycle reached speeds exceeding 80 mph.

When the pursuit reached Sissonville Drive, the motorcycle traveled through the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly. While in the parking lot, he lost control and crashed.

The driver was quickly apprehended by Deputy Hurd, assisting Kanawha County Sheriff’s deputies, and troopers with the West Virginia State Police.

The driver was identified as Hunter Stephen Reveal, 20 years old of Sissonville, WV.  Deputies determined he was operating the motorcycle while his driver’s license was suspended.

Reveal was arrested and charged with Fleeing with Reckless Indifference. He was arraigned before a Kanawha County Magistrate, who set bond at $5,000 cash.

Reveal is currently being held at the South Central Regional Jail.

Anybody that is arrested is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
