Suspect Wanted Following Triple Stabbing in Clendenin

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at approximately 12:41 p.m., Metro 911 received a call reporting that a female had been stabbed in the 2600 block of Dutch Ridge Road in Clendenin, West Virginia.

Cpl. Dubiel of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and learned there were two additional stabbing victims. The incident occurred in the roadway.

All three victims were transported by Kanawha County EMS to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Detectives responded to the hospital to obtain statements from the victims while additional deputies remained at the scene and began a K9 track for
the suspect. The West Virginia State Police also assisted with a helicopter during the search.

According to information provided by one of the victims, the three victims and the suspect, identified as
Kelcey Nicholas, 42, of Clay County West Virginia, were traveling in a pickup truck on Dutch Ridge Road. Nicholas and his girlfriend were riding in the bed of the truck when he allegedly began choking her.

The vehicle was stopped in an attempt to separate Nicholas and his girlfriend. Nicholas then allegedly stabbed a male victim before stabbing his girlfriend. Nicholas subsequently stabbed a second female victim while she was seated in the driver’s seat of the
truck.

Nicholas fled the scene on foot.  A warrant has been obtained for his arrest for three counts of malicious wounding.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anybody that is arrested is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
