Found Murdered on August 13, 2004
On August 13, 2004, the body of 78-year-old cattle rancher Cleo Junior Burdette was discovered in his Cicerone Route home in Sissonville, West Virginia.
Authorities described the scene as violent and unsettling, with Mr. Burdette’s residence showing signs of a struggle, including broken windows and a severed telephone line.
According to witnesses, the previous day, Mr. Burdette had attended a cattle auction.
Detectives believe that his killer may have targeted him after seeing him with a significant amount of money, pointing to robbery as a possible motive.
Investigators are seeking more information about a red or orange Toyota truck that was seen near Mr. Burdette’s home the day before his body was discovered.
