Law Enforcement

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is committed to serving and protecting our community with professionalism, integrity, and dedication. Our agency is structured into several divisions, each with a specific focus to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of Kanawha County.

One of the core components of our agency is the Law Enforcement Division (LED), which is overseen by Chief Deputy Sean Snuffer. Under his leadership, the Deputy Sheriffs assigned to this division perform a wide range of essential law enforcement duties in the unincorporated areas of Kanawha County.

The LED deputies patrol neighborhoods and roadways, respond to emergency 911 calls, investigate criminal activity and traffic collisions, and serve criminal warrants. They also provide courtroom security for the Kanawha County courts, serve domestic violence protective orders, and work closely with federal, state, and local agencies to promote public safety and support our communities.
