I’m Sergeant Burns of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Today’s date is April 30th, 2025. Now, normally on Wanted Wednesday, we’ll show you two wanted felons that have outstanding warrants that we’re currently looking for and needing your help. Well, today there’s only one thing we want, and that’s your help in solving a homicide investigation. On April 15th, 2025, human remains were found on a hillside on Walnut Gap Road in Charleston, West Virginia. These remains were positively identified as Leonard Pierre Jackson, a 38-year-old male from Dundee, Michigan. Now, Mr. Jackson had previously been reported missing to the Charleston Police Department on March 26th, 2025. In a joint effort between the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston Police Department, we are treating this case as a homicide, but we can’t do it alone. We need the eyes and ears of the community to assist in our investigation. Now, what I want you to do is take a good look at Mr. Jackson’s photo. If you saw Mr. Jackson anywhere in the Kanawha County area during the month of March, we’d like to know about it. Doesn’t matter if you saw him walking in a parking lot or maybe shopping at a grocery store or filling up his car with gas. We’d like to know so we can go and check the area for other evidence, maybe surveillance footage or other people that may have seen him because no detail is too small when it comes to a homicide investigation. If you have any tips you’d like to submit to assist in our investigation, you can do so on our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us or call 304-357-0556. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office along with the Charleston Police Department are fully committed to finding whoever is responsible for this heinous crime and bringing them to justice.

During our investigation, it was learned that Mr. Jackson was previously seen wearing a black Louis Vuitton Jacket, a gold Rolex watch, and a gold chain with the arabic symbol meaning “God” on it. These items were not with his body. A release was done to the public requesting any information pertaining to these items in hopes that someone would have been seen either wearing or in possession of these items. No tips were received in regards to the items.
