Registered sex offender arrested for sexual assault

CHESAPEAKE, WV – Detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Chesapeake, West Virginia man following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving an adult male victim.

On May 27, 2026, Detectives began investigating after receiving a report from the victim, who alleged that George W. Honaker sexually assaulted him on two separate occasions.

George W. Honaker, who is a registered sex offender, was taken into custody without incident and transported to South Central Regional Jail (SCRJ) to await video arraignment before a Kanawha County Magistrate on the charge of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree.

According to the WVSP Sex Offender Website, Honaker was previously convicted in 1992 of two counts of Incest, Second Degree Sexual Assault, and Sexual Abuse by a Custodian. He served approximately 8 years and 7 months in a correctional facility related to those convictions.
