July 1, 2016: Extra Patrols Continuing in Flood Affected Areas 

Throughout the July 4th weekend the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office will continue to conduct additional patrols in the flood affected areas along the Elk River in northern Kanawha County.  Extra patrols of Deputy Sheriffs will assist with traffic concerns, routing supplies for those helping with cleanup efforts, and deterring and arresting looters and vandals.  

July 1, 2016: Arrest in Chesapeake Robbery

June 29, 2016: Fatal Crash Overnight

Though no one has reported being scammed while trying to donate to flood victims, we encourage everyone to learn about a charitable organization before donating to one.  Donate to those you know or recognize as legitimate.  Be wary of organizations you’ve never heard of asking for donations.
