Fire

Plan ahead with your family, practice drills, and decide where to meet after getting out of the house.

Roll out of bed and stay low while exiting the house.

If you’re on fire remember:  Stop, Drop, and Roll.

Place smoke detectors on every floor and in every bedroom.  Check the batteries monthly.

Draw a floor plan of the house showing doors, windows, and stairs.  Plan at least two ways to exit every bedroom.

Sleep with doors closed to limit smoke and heat entering bedrooms, buying more time to escape.  Touch doors to test for heat before opening it.

Never smoke in bed or leave candles burning after going to sleep.
